Darryl Pirl, 15, of West Mifflin, was on juvenile probation when he illegally obtained a gun, brought it to Kennywood Park, and fired at a group of teens he was feuding with, Allegheny County police alleged.

"The Commonwealth did not prove burden in the case which led to the charges being dismissed," Magisterial District Judge Kim Berkeley Clark said according to court documents.

Evidence at the scene previously led police to believe that there was a second shooter who fled before police arrived, the police explain in the release.

Pirl was grazed by the other shooter's bullet, and was "observed (by) initial responding officers but fled before receiving treatment. He was transported several hours later to McKeesport Hospital for treatment," police said.

He had been charged as an adult with three felonies, two for Aggravated Assault - Attempts to cause Serious Bodily Injury or causes injury with extreme indifference, and one for Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a License, this is in addition to two misdemeanors for Possession Of Firearm By Minor and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, police explained and court records confirmed.

He remains in Allegheny County Jail, according to the court records.

The 39-year-old victim is recovering at home and the other 15-year-old who was shot was in stable condition in an area hospital when police gave an update in October, adding, "at this point, we believe the two shooting victims were innocent bystanders."

The ongoing feud police continually referred to during the press conference, is between teens in the Mon Valley area which involves over 55 different shooting investigations, including one that took the life of a teenage girl in Duquesne, WPXI reports.

Following the arrest of Pirl Kennywood thanked to the police.

But Kennywood has not commented on the recent case update.

Police continue to investigate this shooting and are looking for the other suspected shooter.

They are urging anyone with video footage of what happened or information to come forward. Anyone with information concerning this shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477); callers can remain anonymous.
